Can we connect our student information system to the GT ID System? 


Yes! 


While the GT ID System can run without any integrations with your district's student information system (SIS), we recommend using one of the options below to enable enhanced lookup features for student, parent, and teacher information.


Of these options, option 1 is the fastest and easiest, but the other two options are also fairly quick if you have the ability to easily produce the necessary files at the frequency you desire. Most integrations only take a few weeks at most.

    • Option 1: Cloud Hosted Student Information System 
      • If you have a modern student information system that is hosted in the cloud, it may provide a ready-to-use integration point for us to connect to. This is called an API: Application Programming Interface. If this is available from your Student Information System, they can provide us a key and secret that our system can use to provide student, parent, and teacher lookup features within our application. 


  • Option 2: Cloud Hosted Student Information System (System hosted in the cloud)
    • If you have a student information system hosted in the cloud that does not have an API available for us to use, they still likely offer the ability to download a list of students with their teachers and parent information. This information can be extracted at a frequency of your choosing and uploaded to our system to provide student, parent, and teacher lookup features within our application. These files can be uploaded manually each semester or you can work with your IT department to deliver these files automatically at a frequency of your choosing.


  • Option 3: On-Premise Student Information System (System hosted in your district)
    • If you have a student information system hosted on-premise at your district’s data center that does not have an API available for us to use, they still likely offer the ability to download a list of students with their teachers and parent information. This information can be extracted at a frequency of your choosing and uploaded to our system to provide student, parent, and teacher lookup features within our application. These files can be uploaded manually each semester or you can work with your IT department to deliver these files automatically at a frequency of your choosing.
